Braves finally have won their first of hopefully many games!
So glad to see Chipper back in the lineup - with a single, homer and several great defensive plays.
We finally got to see Kimbrel in a game; in fact we got to see the whole trio + Medlen.
Article from WSB-TV, includes video of full press conference.
Chipper Jones has announced he will retire following the 2012 season.Press conference later this morning.

Hope Chipper has a great final season and can go out with a bang!
Looks like the comments from Chipper yesterday were made in jest and two reporters who don’t know him well took the comments the wrong way. See the articles linked in the tweets after the break.

This is even more relevant in light of the article linked in @ajcbraves tweet below.

#Braves 3B Chipper Jones: “I don’t know if I can make it through this year”bit.ly/yDR9cy

I don’t know what will happen if he can’t make it through the year - the team needs he leadership at least through this year. I know he will have to retire someday, hopefully not till the end of the season - though I don’t want to see him limping through the season.
Will Joe Terdoslavich get a chance to mentor under Chipper this year, so he can take over 3rd? I really think he will make a better 3rd baseman than Prado.
Take a close look at the players in the jerseys.
Notice anything?
I notice that the jerseys don’t match the players - Hudson shouldn’t have hair, Beachy isn’t shorter than Hudson, and Freeman tends to have more hair.
The caption matches the jerseys just not the players in them.
Were the players playing a joke - I wouldn’t put it past this group of guys :)
First commercial shoot today. A lot of fun twitter.com/PeterMoylan/st…

Can’t wait to see this commercial - should defiantly be a fun and interesting one with both Peter Moylan and Kris Medlen starring!
Heyward looked relaxed and confident while pounding balls over the center-field and right-field fences all week at Champion Stadium, including one that caromed more than halfway up the 60-foot video board just to the right of straight center.
A few others landed on the red tents beyond right field — the “Heyward tents” that were erected after Heyward’s long shots damaged multiple cars during 2010 spring training.
Glad to hear that the “Heyward Tents” are being put to use this Spring Training - maybe the commercial from last season will be the reality!
